Another good book

Ok so, I've been reading "Wild at heart" by John Eldredge for probably the last 2 years. It's a really good book, the problem is, I've been reading about 5 different books for the last 2 years. I don't recommend it. It's easy to loose steam in reading any of them and usually I just quit. But anyway, I've approached "Wild at Heart" again recently and I'm FINALLY almost finished - but that's not why I'm writing about it. I wanted to share an exerpt from the book that really made me think.. it's from the second to last chapter and it was some advice given to Gil Bailie - author of a different book but John Eldredge quoted it:

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive."

Another really good book that dives into this is "Journey of Desire" - also by John E. (sorry I'm tired of typing his last name). it talks about all the different reasons why we don't pursue our dreams (and why/how we need to over come these things). Anyway, I've seen it in my own life - there ARE things that I'm passionate about but for many different reasons over the years I haven't pursued them. Or perhaps started to but then hit a road block and gave up. I think I'm on the verge of rambling here but basically I just wanted to encourage you all (anyone whos still with me here ha ha..) to really think about what you're passionate about and pursue it. God gave you that passion/desire for a reason - don't wait till you're old to think about it - use it/do it now while you're young. You will enjoy life so much more if you're living /doing what God created you to do, then if you try to stuff yourself in the box that someone or something else has tried to tell you you should be in.
